Have you ever finished sitting through a particularly uplifting church service
on a Sunday and then, as you reflect on the upcoming week, realize with a
sinking feeling that that is the best it's going to be for you for the whole
rest of the week? That you are going to have no other social interaction with
anyone, aside from maybe work, until next Sunday's service?
Have you ever spent a birthday by yourself, at a restaurant or a bar, where
sometimes the people seem to care more about you then anyone you know at church,
and wonder "Where are my Christian friends?" Maybe you don't even know any
Christian friends.
Many of us in the 40's, 50's & Above age group are "Empty Nesters" or have teenage
children who don't really want to socialize with Mom or Dad. As a single
member of The Body of Christ myself, at the end of the week I have often felt
that my social choices were
limited to 1) Stay home alone, or 2) Go to a Nightclub. Neither choice is
good. We were designed to be social creatures. "It is not good for
the Man (or Woman) to be alone". Yet, sometimes it
can be very difficult to connect with other people outside of Church Services in
a large church such as Colorado Community Church. Many churches do not
even see single's ministry as a mission or priority.
It shouldn't be that way among those of us in The Body of Christ. It
doesn't have
to be that way.
Righteous Rendezvous presents opportunities for Christians to make Christian
Friends of both sexes while enjoying many different social and outdoor
"adventures". We want to provide singles in their 40's, 50's and above at
Colorado Community Church with fellowship, support, prayer and social activities
in a safe and non-threatening environment. Members are
encouraged to plan and organize events that they are interested in, with the
help of the RR leadership. Tell us your idea for our next social or
outdoor adventure!
You don't have to sit at home alone, anymore.
